If you’re looking for a simple list of proteins I buy every week, you’re going to love this one.
Having go-to proteins stocked in your kitchen makes it so much easier to stick to your health goals without overthinking every meal or snack.
Here are the staple proteins I buy every single week that are easy, filling, and packed with nutrition.
Proteins I Buy Every Week
These are some of my favorite proteins to keep on hand for fast, simple meals and snacks that support a healthy lifestyle.
Cheese Sticks
I saw someone recently refer to cheese sticks as “nature’s protein bar” and I couldn’t agree more. These ones in particular are very flavorful.
Eggs
Eggs are one of the most filling foods to me. My favorite ways to eat eggs right now are hard-boiled halves topped with buffalo chicken dip, or fried in ghee with salt and cheese.
Ground Beef
I typically make one-ounce mini burger patties from a pound of beef for myself and the girls to eat almost every day. I bake them in the oven at 400°F for 20 minutes. If it’s in your budget, choose 100% grass-fed beef to honor the cow, and the beef will be higher in important nutrients like omega-3 fats.
Pork Rinds
I love this high-protein and very filling snack. I also love that it’s non-perishable (it doesn’t go bad for a long time), making it great for keeping in your office. You can even crush pork rinds and use them as “breadcrumbs.”
Canned Wild Sockeye Salmon
My go-to way to eat canned salmon is to mix it with balsamic vinegar. It’s delicious as is and makes a no-cook, fast protein option. I look for canned salmon that’s both wild-caught and sockeye for lower contaminants. If your canned salmon has bones, mash them up and eat them for an extra boost of calcium.
Yogurt
I wish I liked plain yogurt more… but since I have a sweet tooth, I blend plain yogurt with defrosted frozen berries (in a blender) and either have a smoothie or freeze them in popsicle molds. The girls love this too.
